Mission to China
It has been estimated that over 4,000 house churches exist in China. Cliff Baird goes to China twice a year to meet, teach, and encourage the brethren at several of these house churches. Cliff also coordinates our “Bibles for China” effort. To date, over 300,000 Bibles have been printed in Chinese and distributed throughout that area.
Mission to Central America
The Royal Oak Church of Christ participates all year with it’s missionary effort to Panama. This effort is three-fold: evangelize the community, give medical attention to the poor, and construct a church building, resident housing for the preacher, and build a medical clinic that will eventually be a year-round service facility. This past summer 30 members of the Royal Oak congregation joined members from six other states in going down to Panama for as many as 13 days. Here are some of this year’s accomplishments:
- 61 souls were saved and added to the Lord’s church.
- The gospel was preached to over 4,000 during this 13-day period.
- 3,000 New Testament Bibles with study guides were distributed. The Panamanian Police requested another 2,000 Bibles to distribute later.
- Over 3,100 patients received medical attention, covering 13 villages. More than 2,000 eyeglasses were fitted.
- Bible classes were held for children each day.
- Construction of a two-bedroom residence was nearly completed.
- Several thousand clothing items were distributed
- Three of the poorest families received one month’s supply of rice and beans.
